BSG Adds Mike Modano to Athlete Representation Division

Mike Modano is the all-time leader in goals scored and points among American born NHL players. He was the first overall draft pick by the Minnesota North Stars in 1988, and made it to his first Stanley Cup Finals in 1991.

Prior to the 1993 NHL Season the North Stars moved to Dallas and became known as the Dallas Stars. During his tenure in Dallas, Modano was widely known as the player to popularize hockey in the southern United States. In 1999, Modano's Stars won the Stanley Cup over Dominick Hasek and the Buffalo Sabres. As a member of the United States Men's National Team, he won the 1991 World Cup of Hockey Silver Medal, the 1996 World Cup of Hockey Gold Medal, and the 2002 Winter Olympics Silver Medal.

Modano announced his retirement in 2003 and the Stars retired his #9 jersey in 2014. On June 23, 2014 Modano was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Away from the rink Mike created The Mike Modano Foundation, Inc. to help raise awareness for children and families affected by child abuse, and he also supports he Wounded Warrior Project.
