Ricky burst onto the golfing scene in 2002 when he won the U.S. Amateur Championship. He went on to win the Ben Hogan Award given annually to the nation’s top collegiate golfer and was named an All-American three times. Following his impressive US Amateur victory, Ricky captured low amateur honors at the 2003 Masters finishing 21st and outscoring his playing partner Tiger Woods in the first round by 7 shots.
Ricky turned pro in 2004 and enjoyed great success on the Nationwide Tour setting a Tour record of 23 consecutive cuts made. When Ricky reached the PGA TOUR in 2009 he quickly made a name for himself as a Major Championship contender when he finished T-2 at the 2009 US Open at Bethpage Black.
He continued to make his mark on TOUR in 2010 finishing T10 at The Masters and a T3 at The Memorial. The 2011 season was marked by a bad injury, but Ricky managed to have several great finishes including a T-4 at the Heritage and a 4th the Honda Classic. In 2012, Ricky again returned to the FedEx Cup Playoffs, his season highlighted by a 3rdplace finish at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
