Joe Sakic


Born in Burnaby, British Columbia Joe Sakic played 20 seasons in the NHL. He was drafted 15th overall by the Quebec Nordiques in 1987. Joe was a 13-time All-Star and was the MVP of the 2004 NHL All-Star Game. Joe was only one of four players (Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Clarke, and Mark Messier) to captain his team to the Stanley Cup Championship and win the Hart Trophy (league MVP)in the same year. Joe represented Canada in 1 World Junior Championship, 3 World Championships, 2 World Cups and 3 Olympic Games, winning the Gold Medal in 2002 at the Salt Lake City Games. Joe finished his career with 1641 points (8th in NHL history), his 625 career goals are 14th in NHL history and his 1016 career assists are 11th in NHL history. Joe is currently working for the Colorado Avalanche.
